At Kabi Lake the safety and health of our employees comes first. Management is committed to doing everything possible to prevent injuries and to maintain a healthy environment. We are also committed to protecting the natural environment and providing a safe place to work while maintaining a high level of production and quality. Kabi Lake is aware that optimum production and accident prevention go together. This goal can only be achieved by having a properly trained workforce, providing safe working conditions and by maintaining equipment in good working order.

Kabi Lake is committed to ensuring that we take the necessary precautions to prevent contaminating the environment. This fact demands that we adopt appropriate attitudes and proactive pollution prevention programs to protect our environment. We understand and accept our legal and moral responsibility to protect and sustain our environment at all levels. This means reorganizing potential hazards and working to minimize the environmental impact of our activities.
First Nation Engagement
At Kabi Lake, we are committed to working with First Nation communities to strengthen and grow our labour force as well as help to provide meaningful training and long lasting opportunities in the area. We proudly partner with First Nation communities to expand the knowledge and experience of our workforce that allows us to continue to improve our quality and services.
Kabi Lake currently holds Joint Ventures with both Netmizaaggamig Nishnaabeg First Nation and Missanabie Cree First Nation. The JV with Netmizaaggamig Nishnaabeg has been in place since 2012 and continues to be a strong and beneficial relationship for both parties. Kabi Lake recently signed a JV with Missanabie Cree in the summer of 2019 but has worked with their management team previously on contracts. Kabi Lake has also worked with many other First Nation communities including Red Rock Indian Band, Fort William First Nation, Michipicoten First Nation and Biigtigong Nishnaabeg.
